Biography
Sherrie is the operations manager for the WVU Rare Earth Elements Initiative. Sherrie brings over 25 years of experience working for the State of West Virginia.
Sherrie started her career in 1995 working in the West Virgina Secretary of State’s Office under the Honorable Ken Hechler and the Honorable Joe Manchin. Sherrie continued to serve in the West Virginia Governor’s office in 2005 under the Honorable Joe Manchin and the Honorable Earl Ray Tomblin. Sherrie served as Director of Scheduling until 2017. She began working in the West Virginia National Guard under Major General James Hoyer.
In 2020, Sherrie was assigned to the Joint Interagency Task Force to manage and distribute equitably the COVID-19 vaccines across West Virginia. In March 2022, Sherrie joined West Virginia University and began working on special projects with the Rare Earth Elements Initiative.
